Atheism denies the existence of God. If there is no God, then there is no supreme being which is a spirit. For the supreme being does not have a body, for a body has only limited perfection. Whereas an uncreated spirit is unlimited perfection and thereby supreme.
As a spirit is that which exists and acts without a body, then according to atheism there is no supreme spirit. If there is no supreme spirit, then there are no subordinated spirits. For a created spirit is dependent on its being upon the supreme spirit which causes the being of all creatures. Therefore atheism denies the existence of spirits and thereby concludes to materialism, which concludes to the existence of only material things.
In short, if atheism is true, then materialism is true.
Or alternatively, if materialism is true, then atheism is true. For materialism denies the supreme being as the supreme spirit, just as atheism denies the supreme being as the supreme spirit.
But materialism is always false for materialism is itself an abstract concept which is itself immaterial. But what is itself immaterial is a thing existing that is not material. And a thing existing that is not material is excluded by materialism which says only material things exist.
Therefore if materialism is true, then because materialism is itself immaterial, materialism is false. Therefore what is both true and false is false. Then materialism is false.
But atheism concludes to materialism. But materialism is always false. But because atheism is dependent upon the truth of materialism, then atheism is also false. Therefore because materialism is false then atheism is false.
Conclusion - atheism is always false.
